If Ooze is demented, then Non Human lost its family in a car wreck, and affords his meth habit by hocking his precious family heirlooms. Where to begin here? First, the character moves at two speeds. When you start walking, you move pretty quickly, but eventually, it's as if the weight of the scrolling screen lies on your character's back. This makes for a really awkward moment where you must jump across some silly 1x1 blocks while scrolling the screen.
Platforming is a chore (as it always is with the Action 52), and Non Human is all about struggling with the poor controls. In fact, the opening moments of the game are almost untraversable by mortals, therefore, you must be "Non Human" if you can finish it. Non Human seems to only be able to land on his one stupid leg, otherwise you'll misjudge your jump and fall through the cracks. Don't dare to take a running jump off of a block to land on a block below you!
The enemies you face move in a pattern that is both predictable and yet nearly impossible to avoid. By the time you reach to pull the trigger, they've already raised up to eye level to dodge your fire. As with all terrible games, you're only allowed one shot on the screen at a time, so you either need to keep firing bullets as you walk, or try to greet your enemies with a shot fired in the air.
Luckily for you, Non Human's amazing story plays out over the course of one stupid level, so when you manage to reach the end, you get to do it all over again!
OK, I couldn't get through the whole review without asking -- what the shit is with that fucking repeating face tile that consumes the entire bottom half of the screen?
