Action 52!

Yet another "Storm over Desert" clone, trying again to be a mild Robotron clone with a d-pad and a fire button.  Actually, this is more of a copy-and-paste of "They Came...", even using the same music.  Actually, Beeps and Blips adds confusion here.  In the previous games, you'd have to use the ever awkward 'point and fire' method, where you must point your ship in the direction you want to fire in, while dodging randomly spawning enemies.  Beeps and Blips now allows you to move in all eight directions, but still only lets you shoot in four, determined by which one you most recently pressed.

GOD DAMN BEEPIN' BLIPS!

Aside from being completely boring and controller-throwingly unfair, this is probably the most playable of the "Storm over Desert" clones.  Locked in an arena, the enemies move much less aggressively (at first) and tend to "walk about" rather than spawn and race for the nearest edge before disappearing.  Enemies also fire at you, so you have something to do other than try to coax them into your line of fire.  Powerups marked "1UP" are randomly dropped, but rather than giving you a free life as you would expect, they act as shields that will take a hit for you.  You can hold up to four of these "1UP shields" at a time.

Sorry, I know this is a comedy website, but I simply cannot be funny when reviewing the same game for the third time in a row.  Maybe next week.

And now, a movie of a random shape shooting other random shapes:
